This is a furious ranting post so if you love what I'm gonna rant about, I seriously ask you to avert yer eyes, cause it ain't gonna be pretty.
Today at 12.54 am (eastern time) I watched Full metal alchemist in ENGLISH for the first time... and dangit I dont wanna watch it in english ever again. As much as they tried to adhere to the actual voices of the cast, I cant forgive the fact that Ed sounds like a beach bum. Not the least bit like the original version, which I plainly prefer. This voice dosent suit him in the fact that its not so hilarious to hear when he gets angry etc etc. Plus he sounds a bit too old to be 13 or 14. Even by American standards. I got the same to say about Advent Children also.
From all the characters in, only Cloud sounded like the bishie he should be. So now I'm gonna go sign some petitions on keeping anime with subtitles, not dubbed.

SUBS forever! Down with the dubs!
Yeah I've watched FMA with dubs, it's just as you described it.
However, not all of them are so horrible. Check out Cowboy Bebop and Trigun, they did a pretty good job on both.
Still, down with the dubs!
